Level 1 Acting - Kathleen Flint
Kathleen has been acting since elementary school! She fell in love with Musical Theater as a young girl getting to tag along with her friend to see shows at Music Circus, a love that continues now every summer with the tickets she shares with her family. She truly began her onstage career during High School. She began performing her junior year and the bug was officially caught! Highlight was playing Margy in State Fair. She took off several years to go to college, get married, live overseas and in NY (thanks to her husband’s military service) and start her family. But she was soon drawn back to the stage and began performing and working for Runaway Stage Productions from 1998 until 2012. She managed props for all their mainstage, children’s theater and workshop performances and was part of the box office team for many years. She has performed in 9 mainstage shows with RSP with the highlight being cast as M’lynn in Steel Magnolia’s and getting to reprise that roll with Sutter Street Theater. She has performed in nearly 30 storybook shows and has Directed 7 storybook shows (with multiple Elly nominations) and Assistant Directed Seussical the Musical for the mainstage. She was an integral part of the Youth Musical Workshops for many years and Assistant Directed all the Master Class shows during her tenure with RSP.
She has performed with Woodland Opera House and Sutter Street Theater. Her husband and 3 children all joined her, overtime, on stage or worked tech, lighting and sound for shows. This made a great family togetherness that we cherish today. She began supporting Musical Mayhem Productions from their beginning and thoroughly loves being the current Level One teacher! She is currently an Elly Judge for Education-judging the High School shows are a treat and she loves seeing the amazing talent on the stage all around Sacramento! She hopes to return to performing in the near future as the itch to return to the stage is happening again!

Through dance she discovered musical theater, which has taught her how to since, act and dance her way through the world. Jessica has spent the last 20 years teaching dance and musical theater to children and adults, guiding students who wish to pursue theater and dance both recreationally and professionally. Last year she was honored to receive SARTA's Elly Award for best choreography for her work with the fabulous cast of Urinetown the Musical at MMP. She studied Musical Theater at California State University, Sacramento where she was the Jeffrey Award Recipient and winner of Best Supporting Actress for her role in Godspell, and was guided by her teachers to find her voice and her place in the theater world. She hopes to keep the cycle going and do the same for her students.
