Master showman Harold Hill is in town and he’s got “seventy-six trombones” in tow. Can upright, uptight Marian, the town librarian, resist his powerful allure? The story follows fast-talking traveling salesman, Harold Hill, as he cons the people of River City, Iowa, into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys' band he vows to organize. The catch? He doesn't know a trombone from a treble clef. His plans to skip town with the cash are foiled when he falls for Marian, whose belief in Harold’s power just might help him succeed in the end in spite of himself.

Transporting audiences from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus, the Cat in the Hat, our narrator, tells the story of Horton, an elephant who discovers a speck of dust containing tiny people called the Whos, including Jojo, a Who child, who gets in trouble for thinking too many "thinks." Horton's challenge is twofold — not only must he protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, but he must also guard an abandoned egg that's been left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger, kidnapping and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him. Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant!

Tuition, Withdrawals, and Transfers

If a participant withdraws or transfers to another workshop prior to auditions, a $50 administrative fee will be applied and the remaining balance will be refunded. Following auditions, no refunds, credits, or transfers will be permitted, and full tuition will be due regardless of participation. We do not support “part shopping” and believe every role is essential to the success of the production.

Costumes

Costumes are provided by Musical Mayhem Productions. Shoes and undergarments (including tights and socks) are not provided.

Auditions

All participants are required to audition. Every participant who auditions will be cast. We encourage all students to understand that every role is vital to the success of the production.

Rehearsal Dress Code

Students must wear appropriate attire to all rehearsals. Failure to comply may result in inability to participate.

Snug-fitting shirts, pants, or shorts required
No skirts, dresses, or strapless tops (shorts underneath permitted)
Jazz shoes required; no street shoes allowed on the dance floor

Tickets

All performances operate on a reserved seating model with tiered pricing, meaning ticket prices vary based on seating location and availability. Tickets are sold on a first-come, first-served basis, and once an event is sold out, no additional tickets will be released.
